Gas sector companies: system charges, remuneration, and storage levies approved for gas year 2027

Order TED/1149/2026 establishes the unit system charges for the gas system to finance regulated costs not associated with the use of facilities (Art. 1.1). It also sets the remuneration and access levies for basic underground storage, as well as the differential cost of manufactured gas supply in non-interconnected island territories (Art. 1.2). The regulation also governs the remuneration adjustment for the organised gas market operator (Art. 1.3).

In 2 key points

  1. Gas year 2027 begins on 1 October 2026, coinciding with the new regulatory period (Art. 1). (art. 1)
  2. The unit charges for the gas system will apply from the 1st day of the month following the publication of this order (Art. 2.1). (art. 2.1)

How it affects those involved

For underground storage operators, the remuneration and access levies governing the regulatory period starting 1 October 2026 are defined (Art. 1). Users of such storage must apply the approved levies. In the case of Tenerife, the differential cost of manufactured gas supply is determined (Art. 1.2). The organised gas market operator must settle the accumulated balance of differences between provisional and final remunerations for the 2015-2024 period (Art. 1.3).
