The national collective agreement for the pulp, paper and cardboard sector for the 2026-2028 period has been registered and published. The agreement is binding for all pulp, paper and cardboard manufacturing companies nationwide (Art. 1.1 and 1.2). The agreement is retroactive to 1 January 2026, although economic implementation may be delayed by up to 3 months following signing (Art. 1.4).

In 3 key points

  1. Effective from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2028, Art. 1.4 (art. 1.4)
  2. Retroactive effects to 1 January 2026, Art. 1.4 (art. 1.4)
  3. Economic implementation may take place 3 months after signing, Art. 1.4 (art. 1.4)

How it affects those involved

For companies in the sector, the agreement establishes a national regulatory framework that includes a presumption of permanent contracts and the requirement to formalise certain types of contracts in writing (Art. 1.4 and 1.5). Sector workers are subject to the agreed conditions, with the exception of forestry operations (Art. 1.3). Professional groups 11 to 14 are excluded from specific pay conditions, although they are guaranteed the minimum wage set by the agreement (Art. 1.3).
