CITpax: 30-day deadline to apply for peace activities grant

Royal Decree 516/2026 establishes the direct award of a grant to the International Centre for Toledo for Peace (CITpax) for activities within the framework of foreign policy. The application must be submitted within 30 days of the publication of the Royal Decree, in accordance with Article 67 of the Regulations of Royal Decree 887/2006 and Articles 22.2.c) and 28 of Law 38/2003. This change allows CITpax to access direct funding without the need for a prior selection process.

In 2 key points

  1. CITpax must submit its grant application within 30 days (art. 67 del R.D. 887/2006)
  2. The grant is linked to foreign policy activities (arts. 22.2.c) y 28 de la Ley 38/2003)

How it affects those involved

For CITpax, this creates an opportunity for direct access to funding for peace activities. International cooperation administrations could optimise the resource allocation process. Advisors for international organisations should verify whether the submission deadline applies to their clients. Stakeholders in the international cooperation sector could benefit from increased agility in the granting of subsidies.
