Schools with public funds to apply new student ratio by February

The Foral Law 10/2026 repeals Resolution 26/2026 and sets a new maximum student-to-unit ratio in publicly funded schools, responding to changes in student numbers. The measure takes effect after publication in the BOE and is implemented within a two-month transitional period as specified in article 1.

In 3 key points

  1. The maximum student-to-teacher ratio in publicly funded schools is reduced (art. 1)
  2. The Resolution 26/2026 of 10 April is repealed (BOE No. 84) (disposición transitoria única)
  3. A two-month period from publication in the BOE to implement the new ratio (disposición transitoria única)

How it affects those involved

Publicly funded schools must update their student load plans and staffing allocations within two months of the BOE publication, as the previous ratio is no longer applicable.
