Current position

The deduction for investments in fixed assets in the Canary Islands is applied to the tax liability (cuota íntegra) of the taxpayer (or of the tax consolidation group). New tangible fixed assets must remain in the Archipelago and be used for the business for five years. In the audiovisual field, creative personnel expenses are eligible with a limit of 50,000 euros per person, whereas administrative expenses are excluded.

The DGT's position remains constant regarding the application of limits on the tax liability (cuota íntegra) and the requirement for assets to remain in the Canary Islands. The concepts of eligible expenditure for the audiovisual sector and the incompatibility of this deduction with the Canary Islands Investment Reserve (RIC) on the same assets have been clarified.
