La clasificación en las Tarifas del IAE se realiza atendiendo a la naturaleza material de las actividades. Si los trabajos de fontanería se realizan de forma aislada, deben tributar en el epígrafe 504.2. El epígrafe 699 de 'Otras reparaciones' solo se usa para servicios no clasificados expresamente en ninguna otra rúbrica. Si los trabajos fueran complementarios a obras de construcción, cabría el epígrafe 501.3.
