The Agreement of 27 January 2026 modifies the specialisation of Section 1 of the Provincial Court of Alicante, granting it exclusive jurisdiction over cases of violence against women, in accordance with Articles 80.3, 82, and 82 bis.2 of Organic Law 6/1985. This change takes effect on 10 February 2026 and represents a reallocation of competencies regarding the protection of vulnerable women.
Litigants in violence against women cases must bring their claims before Section 1 of the Alicante Provincial Court from 10 February 2026. Judicial administrations in other courts must redirect these cases. Legal professionals must update their guidance regarding sectoral jurisdictions. Victim support advisors must provide information on the new point of legal access.
