Intrastat traders: web service submission enabled and item limits adjusted

The Resolution modifies Intrastat declaration instructions to modernise the exchange of commercial information within the EU. It introduces the option to submit declarations using web services based on open standards to improve interoperability and security (section 4.4.2.2). Furthermore, it establishes that if the number of order items exceeds 25 in electronic forms or 999 in CSV format, additional declarations must be submitted in consecutive numerical order (section 4.1.2.1).

In 3 key points

  1. Limit of 25 items in electronic forms and 999 in CSV format per declaration (apartado 4.1.2.1)
  2. Option to submit declarations via web services according to AEAT design (apartado 4.4.2.2)
  3. Entry into force on 1 July 2027 (disposición final)

How it affects those involved

For companies engaged in the international trade of goods within the EU, the regulation allows for more agile and efficient IT integration via web services, reducing processing times (section 4.4.2.2). IT or management departments should note that, for high volumes of operations, the system will limit the number of items per declaration (25 in electronic forms or 999 in CSV), requiring the submission to be split into multiple files (section 4.1.2.1).
