Olive producers: insured goods and coverage periods for 2027/2028 and 2028/2029 crops

Regulation APA/862/2026 sets out the technical rules for olive farm insurance under the Combined Agricultural Insurance Plan. It defines insured assets (olive production, plantations and irrigation installations) and coverage periods for the 2027/2028 and 2028/2029 crops (art. 1.1). The rule also applies to the 48th Combined Agricultural Insurance Plan (preamble).

In 2 key points

  1. Insured assets: olive production, plantations and irrigation heads/networks (art. 1.1) (art. 1.1)
  2. Obligation to jointly insure production and plantation to cover irrigation installations (art. 1.1.3) (art. 1.1.3)

How it affects those involved

For olive farmers, the regulation specifies which elements are covered under the main insurance policies (modules 1A, 2A, Autumn and Spring modules), including irrigation heads and networks (art. 1.1). It requires joint insurance of production and plantation to include irrigation installations in coverage (art. 1.1.3). Producers must adjust their insurance arrangements according to the plan (47th or 48th) to cover the relevant crops (art. 1.1).
