Plaza No. 3 of the Instruction Section of the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Court of First Instance is exclusively assigned to handle cases of violence against children and adolescents, as provided for in Art. 89 bis 1 of the Organic Law of the Judiciary. This agreement shall enter into force on 1 January 2026 or on the day following its publication, whichever is later (Art. 2).
Prosecutors and judges in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria must exclusively manage cases involving violence against children and adolescents. Judicial administrations must reorganise their case distribution to comply with this mandate. Defence counsel and victims may benefit from a more specialised and accessible process. Judicial advisors must update their procedures to address the newly assigned post.
