Order PJC/528/2026 amends Annexes I, II, VII, XVIII, III, IV, XI and XII of several Royal Decrees concerning vehicle type-approval, including mopeds and motorcycles, to align with the 20 March 1958 Agreement. This change updates the technical standards applicable to vehicle manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers, particularly regarding components and inspection. The amendments shall enter into force 30 days after their publication (Art. 1).
Vehicle manufacturers and distributors must update their type-approval and technical compliance processes in accordance with the new standards. Parts and component suppliers must review their products to ensure conformity. Inspection authorities must apply the new specifications during technical controls. Vehicle consultants must incorporate these updates into their certification and review services.
