Carmen Jimenez Paredes

Carmen brings thirteen years of accounting and audit experience, the last seven at BMC, which she joined in 2019 after six years as an external auditor at a mid-tier audit firm. That prior career gave her a rigorous understanding of the most common errors in annual accounts preparation and the areas auditors scrutinise most closely.

At BMC she manages accounting operations for a portfolio of over 40 companies, overseeing everything from monthly close to annual accounts preparation. She has deep command of the Spanish General Chart of Accounts (PGC) across all its versions, including the SME variant, and has led several IFRS conversion projects for subsidiaries of multinational groups required to report under international standards.

One of her most valued contributions is her ability to anticipate external auditors’ observations before their fieldwork begins. Her background as an auditor means she identifies accrual adjustments, understated provisions, and asset valuation discrepancies that typically generate comments in audit reports — and corrects them in advance. That preventive approach significantly reduces the time and cost her clients dedicate to the audit process each year.

She also coordinates the relationship with clients’ external auditors, serving as the technical point of contact during fieldwork and resolving document requests efficiently.
