Coal mining workers: contribution bases for common contingencies set for 2026

This Order establishes the standardised contribution bases for common contingencies within the Special Social Security Regime for Coal Mining for the 2026 financial year. The regulation is issued due to the extension of the 2023 General State Budgets and the need to adjust amounts following the revaluation of pensions and the update of maximum and minimum contribution limits (Art. 122.9 Law 31/2022; Art. 3 RDL 3/2026).

In 1 key point

  1. The bases are determined according to the 2025 contribution amounts for occupational accidents and professional diseases (art. 122.9 Ley 31/2022)

How it affects those involved

For workers subject to the Special Coal Mining Regime, the regulation determines the exact amounts to be contributed for common contingencies throughout 2026. Companies and parties responsible for payment must apply these bases, which are calculated based on the contributions for occupational accidents and professional diseases from the 2025 period (Art. 122.9 Law 31/2022).
